Do not buy dogs from so called ‘puppy mills’ or pet stores, because these puppies are of doubtful quality. As a rule, they are bred and raised in large quantities and are usually underfed and undercared-for. Many of them have faults and will never make eligible show dogs. Some are affected by serious hereditary diseases, such as hip dysplasia, cryptothyroidism, epilepsy or allergies. These so called breeders provide no veterinary assistance to their dogs, and if you purchase a puppy from such a breeder, chances are you will be hugely disappointed in a couple of months.

The main goal of every reputable breeder is to produce healthy and sound dogs fitting the breed standard and able to become champions. If you buy purebred dogs from pet shops, brokers or puppy mills, you have no guarantee that the animal is of show quality. It isn’t recommended to breed these dogs by yourselves, because this special type requires special care and knowledge. Both parents should be screened for genetic diseases and should have no recessive genes. The labor and gestation period are very complicated in this breed.
